Summer Opportunities
DownCity Design's Summer Design Studios (our paid internship program) is now accepting applications! We have an exciting summer planned!
This summer, we are offering two different programs: Design/Build Studio and Creative Change Studio.

Applications open on March 2 and close on April 5.

DownCity Design | Summer Design Studios
DATES: July 6 - August 14, 2026
TIMES: Monday - Friday (no Wednesday) | 9:00am - 3:00pm (students can arrive as early as 8:30am for breakfast)
STUDENTS ELIGIBLE: Providence County High School Students currently in 8th-11th grade (2025-2026)

Generation Teach Summer Teaching Fellowship
High-school juniors and seniors, we encourage you to apply to the Generation Teach Summer Teaching Fellowship.
The fellowship includes an amazing summer of fun, learning, teaching, and creating community. Fellows receive a $3,000 taxable cash scholarship and over 275 hours of teaching and leadership experience.
Deadlines are the 15th of each month through April 15.

Students will have the opportunity to work closely with Bryant University faculty during an immersive, five day, in-person experience.
By the end of the program, students will have learned both basic and advanced economic concepts and have the ability to analyze current policy issues.
All students who complete the program will receive a Certificate of Completion from the Bryant University Economics Department.
The program will run from 9:00am to 3:00pm, August 3th through August 7th. This is an in-person program.
Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from campus each day. However, all materials and lunch will be included in the cost of tuition.
The entire program costs $600 and there is no application fee.

Apply for the RI Teen Institute – April 2026
Central students are invited to apply for the Rhode Island Teen Institute, a powerful five-day overnight leadership program for high school youth happening April 20–24, 2026 at Camp JORI in Wakefield, RI.
Students will participate in workshops focused on team building, leadership, action planning, and personal growth, while connecting with teens from across the state.
