March: Prepare for Graduation

Continue applying for scholarships and be sure to let your counselor know where you get accepted.

  • If you're applying to a community college, complete the application and take the Accuplacer Test.
  • Continue working on scholarship applications.
  • Notify your guidance counselor of your college acceptances.
  • Order your cap and gown!
  • Don't forget to save money for prom!

The UA Local 51 apprenticeship provides:

It provides a structured transition from high school into the workforce while building lifelong skills and credentials.

This program is particularly meaningful for students who want to start their careers immediately after high school without taking on college debt.

Application Window and Requirements

Applications will be open from March 2 to March 13, 2026, at www.ualocal51.com.
Applicants must:

  • Be 18 years old by September 2026
  • Hold a valid driver’s license
  • Have a high school diploma or GED by June 2026
  • Pass a required drug test

Supporting documents such as transcripts, a headshot, and optional certifications must also be submitted. Additional training experiences, such as CTE coursework, trade school certifications, or programs like Building Futures, may strengthen a student’s interview score.

Once accepted and trained, apprentices are eligible to be dispatched to work and should maintain current employment until contacted
